I live in Seattle with my husband and two sons, Sage and Sascha. Before I had kids, I was a journalist at U.S. News & World Report in Washington, DC. I also did a stint on the investigative team at US News where I covered the Food and Drug Administration and other health-related issues. After college, I taught first grade in Baltimore as part of Teach for America. I went on to get my teaching certificate in Montessori early childhood education. Now I’m a SAHM and a freelance writer. My kids are three and a half and ten months old.
I am also a contributing writer at MotherTalkers.

when i grew up in redmond, oregon, it was a small town of 6,000 people with a high school rodeo team, one stoplight and some tumbleweed blowing across the road. i escaped to the big city and had all kinds of adventures, and now i’m in seattle with my husband and our daughters, sadie (3.5) and lily (1.5). pre-kids, i worked as a producer/project manager on multimedia, animation and website projects. post-kids, well, let’s just say, ummmm. yeah. you know.
