i know, thinking about packaged food is tough. soaking beans seems out of the question! i'm going to try to chip away at this problem, rather than trying to get rid of everything all at once. it's too much. like raremer, i don't heat food in plastic because of the leaching issue. but we do still use plastic water bottles and sippy cups. those are next to go for sure. also, i want to buy a set of glass food storage containers and get rid of our tupperware.

i agree
i haven't soaked beans since college!
this is disturbing and overwhelming when i start to think of all of the places that it touches our lives as a family. we love trader joes, but i bet more than half of the things we buy there are packaged in plastic. will have to give this some thought and make some choices.

This is truly grim. I knew not to heat things in plastic and we made the shift to metal water bottles a while back, but now we need to avoid canned food?! Soaking beans is for better planners than me.

I suppose I'll have to shell out for the ten dollar sippy cup, because I don't want to poison my daughter with her Playtex one! Yikes!
